Located in Louisiana, the Hollywood South, R-Squared Productions is a film company poised to make a positive dent in the entertainment world by challenging the believer, developing a stronger desire in the seeker and creating curiosity in the non-believer.
The company was founded by successful Christian businessman Rodney Ray in 2008. In addition to owning two businesses, Ray developed his love for the arts with writing, producing and directing theater productions at First West, one of the largest Baptist Churches in Louisiana and home to 5,000 members. His passion for creative ministry inspired him to extend his expression of faith into the film arena. Since the formation of R-Squared Productions, three films have been created to date: Mumbai Baby, Desires of the Heart and Flag of my Father.
Desires is a Dove Family-Approved short film that premiered in August 2009 and has garnered international retail distribution. Flag is the company’s first feature film starring John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville, 90210) and William Devane (Knot’s Landing, Space Cowboys, The West Wing). The patriotic story captures the unwavering faith and sacrifice of an army nurse and her tumultuous relationship with her siblings after their Vietnam veteran father passes away. Neal Bryant serves as Director of Photography with credits in Stephen King’s The Mist and Beyond a Reasonable Doubt starring Michael Douglass.
Jennifer Parsons is an Emmy award winning costume designer with credits in When Harry Met Sally, Scrooged, and Overboard.
Vernon Guinn is a veteran of 15 years in the industry with hundreds of TV episodic credits and four feature length films currently in post-production.
Annette Dean is a freelance make-up artist with credits on The Travel Channel, the Food Network, and live feed credits on the Today Show, MSNBC, Hardball and Phil Donahue.
Andy Dean is a three-time Emmy nominated media professional and production company owner. Over a span of 20 years, Dean has worked for ABC, NBC, BET, CNN and ESPN.
